Living With Uncertainty

We can’t predict the future, try as we might.  We can certainly prepare for it, but there is no guarantee that things will work out exactly as planned.

For some, the path ahead is dark and scary; they hesitate to start and fear what could happen.  For others, it is a continually unfolding adventure; they are eager to see what happens next.

In either case, the element of uncertainty exists.  We can fear it, or embrace it.

Keep in mind that anything is possible.  Any outcome can materialize.  And know that there will be an outcome in one form or another.  That’s for sure.  It may be what you expected all along, or it may be something different altogether.  You. Just. Never. Know.  That’s the blessing (or curse, depending on your attitude) of mystery.

If the outcome doesn’t work out as intended, then learn from it.  Look for the lesson because there is one lurking in the mess.   Tell yourself, “Well, that didn’t work out.  Let’s try another way.”  Don’t judge it as “good” or “bad.”  Ask how you can turn it around to your advantage.

If the outcome works out as expected, or even better than expected, offer your gratitude, and stay humble as you prepare for the next phase of your journey.

Living with uncertainty can evoke many emotions, but it is not meant to discourage us.  It will push us to the edge of our comfort zone, and the only way we are going to find out what happens is to take action.

So beautiful. Very true. I choose going with it and not fearing the change. It was hard to change but when I just went with the flow everything that was meant to be feel into place.

Being in the flow of life is living in the moment. When this realization hits us, life opens up and new opportunities come our way. It is up to us to take action; otherwise, life will pass us by.

    Earth Star,
I especially identify with this post. For me, the fact that I have always welcomed change and, so, can live with it peacefully, helps me to not let fear rise within when a particular challenge presents itself. I so love your wisdom.

Hello White Bear…even when fear does arise in us during a particular challenge, we can honor its wisdom and intelligence because it is letting us know what is truly important to us in our lives. It informs us of the changes we are contemplating are significant. And this enables us to approach change with the proper reverence.

      Blessings and much love,

    Penny,
you seem to know my inner most thoughts. sometimes it scares me.
I look at things as “it is what it is” and how I react and deal with it makes the difference.
just like before a tough race. just pace yourself and adapt!!! life is the same!
    Love you Penny.

They say great minds think alike! Events in themselves do not carry meaning…they happen…but it’s how we react (or don’t react) that makes the difference, as you said. That is an apropos analogy, likening it to a tough race. Adapting is key.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
      Love & Blessings,
