The Great State Of Appreciation

Whenever someone asks me what state I am from, I say “the great state of appreciation.”

I often get quizzical looks.

What is appreciation?

It’s the intention to live with gratitude in our daily life.

It’s the conscious acknowledgement of the value within and around us.

It’s the willingness to notice all that is good in our lives.

And it’s the desire to experience all of life with this attitude.

Appreciation is where real pleasure comes from, and it is a dynamic magnetic energy that when activated and when really felt will bring bliss to your everyday life.  The more you feel it, the more you create because that which you focus on will expand in your life.  Universal Law does not budge on this point.

Underneath all positive emotions is the state of appreciation.  Likewise, behind all negative emotions is some sort of dissatisfaction or fear.  Here’s a test: Do you consciously seek to enjoy the present moment, seeing value and worth and giving gratitude for what you already have, or do you look around at your life and constantly see everything that is missing? Understand that whichever state you are in, your attitude affects both your consciousness and your energy.  You are either filtering everything through an awareness of abundance or of lack.  And as mentioned previously, the energy you give is the energy you get.

We can’t experience joy without appreciation. To shift from a state of dissatisfaction, discontentment, or fear to a state of appreciation requires a shift in perception. This means taking responsibility for your own happiness by harnessing your power of choice to cultivate your appreciation.

How?

Search for things to be grateful for throughout your life and deep within yourself. Write them down in a notebook or journal. Big things. Little things. Do this in the morning when you arise and in the evening before you fall asleep. Your willingness and participation in this activity is part of your consciousness and energy production.  Cherishing the simple things will magnetize an abundance of joy. Whenever you get lost in the stress of everyday life, read over this list to remind you of all that you have to be grateful for.

You can also use (or create your own) visualization techniques.  Take a few deep breaths to relax your body and mind and imagine your problem (as a bird or a cloud or smoke) floating away to the Light for healing and transformation. Use whatever imagery feels best for you.  As you continue to relax, think about something you appreciate.  It could be a memory, a person, a place. Visualize all the details and immerse yourself in the center. Allow yourself to feel the peace and joy that this imagery brings. Stay with it and feel that resonance. As you do, you open your heart to receiving more.

When you live by filtering everything through a genuine sense of appreciation, you create a highly attractive vibration to which the Universe will respond.  Your energy of gratitude will only attract more to appreciate in the future.

As you appreciate your life, the value of your life appreciates, too.

Increasing Your Energetic Wealth

Energy is like money.
Like money, energy can be squandered or invested.
When you have an abundance of energy, it’s wise to invest it into things that will improve your life. Make your energy work for you, not against you. 
What does this mean?
It means doing those things that make you feel good about yourself. Things that you enjoy doing. Things that raise your spirits, feed your soul, and increase your vibration. Things that propel you to grow, to create, and to express your authentic self. 
But squandering your energy puts you at risk.
Energy that is not channeled constructively or positively leads to boredom, apathy, complacency, dependence, even bondage. You find yourself doing things that you don’t like doing or don’t want to be doing. You find yourself obligated to others rather than to yourself. Things begin piling up on you, adding stress, which then manifest physically in the form of various ailments or illnesses. You don’t feel good about yourself or your place in life. Now you are left with no energy whatsoever; you’ve depleted yourself and your reserves. This is a major energy deficit.
What’s the point of living?
But you can change this.
Investing energy into yourself, rather than squandering it aimlessly on things that no longer serve you (or have never served you), allows for a shift in vibration that moves you to start doing the things you enjoy. It begins by taking back your control and making choices that empower you. One small shift gets the ball rolling. 
Energy is designed to move, not stagnate. 
It is designed to flow freely, without blockage. 
Start small. Choose an area of your life or something about yourself that you’d like to improve. Ask yourself what kind of investment you are willing to make to improve that area of your life. Commit to it by signing a contract with yourself or by creating a vision board.  Remind yourself about your goal on a daily basis. Give it the energy it deserves to grow and manifest. Before you know it, a wealth of energy and assistance will make itself known to you in ways you’ve never imagined. Such is the Spirit of Attraction and Abundance.

Ready, Set, Manifest!

What you think about, activates.

Our thoughts are energy.  Every time we think a thought, we give it life.  Stop and ponder that.  If a thought didn’t exist before, it does now, simply by thinking it.

When we think a thought repeatedly, we water it with energy.  It grows like a seedling.  The more energy we give it, the more it grows into existence.  Sooner or later, that thought becomes laden with fruit that is either healthy or poisonous, depending on the kinds of thoughts generated and repeated.  Since we have the power to give life to thought, we also have the power to choose the kinds of thoughts we think.

Try this little exercise for today:

Find a quiet space, free of distractions.  Get comfortable and allow yourself to tune into your environment.  Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.  If you are outside, listen to the birds, feel the breeze, smell the scent in the air.  If you are inside, listen to calming music, feel the warmth of your own body, light a candle.

Close your eyes and picture a small object, an animal, or a person.  Make it someone or something that you have not seen in quite some time.  As you imagine that person or object, picture a pink bubble of love surrounding him/her/it.  You may repeat the person’s/object’s name aloud or think it quietly and repeatedly.  After a few minutes, give gratitude for that person or object appearing in your life, and then release the bubble upward to the light.  Let it go.  

Throughout the day, whenever you find yourself between tasks, stop to think about that object/person and take a few minutes to send energy…water your thought with love.  Give thanks again and release.

Now be on the look-out.

Don’t worry about when it will manifest.  Simply expect it.  You may find yourself flipping through a magazine or surfing channels when suddenly you see the object or person to whom you sent your energy.  Someone may bring it up in conversation.  Your phone may ring and find the person of whom you were thinking is on the other end.  And when this happens, give thanks for you’ve just experienced synchronicity.
